Dear Patients:

IF you have traveled or been in contact with someone who has traveled and returned from China, Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea in the last month and you are experiencing ANY of the following symptoms within 2 to 14 days after contact:

  • Fever
  • Fatigue                                                                    
  • Chills
  • Cough/Congestion
  • Shortness of breath

If you have a fever or chills, cough and/or shortness of breath and have a concern about exposure to COVID-19, please do not come to the practice for evaluation or testing.  We ask that you call to reschedule your appointment if you or someone in your household is experiencing any flu-like symptoms including sore throat, fevers or a persistent cough.  Please help us prevent the spread of the virus.

We are however available by phone, patient portal or Telemedicine to answer your questions.  Currently, our practice is not equipped to test or treat COVID-19.  There is a dedicated 24 hours crisis contact number 240.777.1755 to call if you believe that you are exposed to the COVID-19 virus.

The spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has gotten all our attention and we are taking the outbreak very seriously and would like to update our patients on everything we are doing to ensure your continued safety and well-being is of utmost importance.

At this time, our clinic is fully operational and will continue to see patients until local, state or CDC and Maryland Department of Health provides update for the latest Emergency Management and Infectious Disease Responses to this virus.

What We’re Doing at Frekko Primary Care

We’re monitoring and following all guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), including taking the steps necessary to reduce the threat of COVID-19 exposure to our patients and employees.

As always, our practice utilizes strict universal infection protocols every day for the care of all our patients.  We ensure that all equipment and procedural areas are sterilized and disinfected to always to make sure our patients are protected.  All employees always wash/sanitize hands between patients as well as wear protective masks, gloves and eye wear as needed. We follow standard universal infection protocols every day and have also increased environmental cleaning of frequently touched surfaces in the office, such as workstations, countertops, and doorknobs. In addition, our cleaning crew cleans every evening after patients and staff have left.

FPC – Patient Awareness & Precautions to Further Prevent Spread

There are certain guidelines that we are asking all patients and our employees to adhere to while the risk for the Coronavirus is still high.  Please read our current scheduling protocols below to stay consistent with the CDC guidelines.

Furthermore, in an effort, to allow you to feel safe when coming to the practice, here are the elevated precautions we are taking:

  • Our healthy and sick patients will be separated by time.
  • Well visits and follow ups will only be done in the morning.
  • We are limiting sick visits to afternoon slots only
  • We will be offering telemedicine visits over the computer for those who have fever, exposure to known COVID -19 patient, travel from endemic areas (China, Iran, Italy Japan and South Korea) who may possibly need medical attention.
